Louisiana Culinary Institute

The Louisiana Culinary Institute (LCI) currently offers an accredited, 16-month Associates of Occupational Studies in Culinary Arts program, with concentrations in Advanced Baking and Pastry or Advanced Culinary Arts. Both intensive courses of study include certifications by the National Restaurant Association, 20 weeks of professional cooking lecture classes and over 21 weeks of hands-on kitchen training. Additionally, each concentration includes specialized, hands-on coursework, such as Cajun/Creole or Specialty Baking and Pastry.
While studying at LCI, students have the opportunity to regularly compete in inter-school, local, state and regional competitions. They can also obtain direct experience in premiere Louisiana restaurants through participation in our Stage program. Additionally, LCI provides assistance with job placement in several affiliated restaurants.
LCI offers job-oriented training and focuses on preparing students for entrance or advancement in one or more culinary occupations. Upon completion, LCI graduates possess the knowledge and practical skills to minimally obtain entry to mid-level culinary positions.
Admissions are based on a contiguous semester system with enrollment dates in April, August and December. Financial aid and scholarships may be available for qualified applicants.
