Our innovative Medical Assisting Associate Degree Program offers students extensive training which will allows them to develop skills in medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, phlebotomy, ECG/EKG, clinical procedures, medical billing, practice management, medical law and ethics, patient rights, security and privacy of medical records, and HIPAA (Healthcare Insurance, Portability & Accountability Act) standards.
Our Medical Assistant program uses a hybrid of online/offline formats through a combination of: Online Distance Education for Theory Classes, On-campus Lab for Hands-on Training, and Clinical Externships in a \"real-world\" medical setting to provide enhanced flexibility in your training with American Institute.
Graduates of the Medical Assisting program will be prepared to assist a physician with examinations and treatment of patients, perform laboratory tests, and function as a crucial member of the team that shares the administrative responsibilities of operating a medical care facility.
